New Installation's

This bungalow in Pershore was new and without a gable end or chimney there was not an obvious location as to where a TV Aerial could be mounted with the exception of erecting one on a long pole and to use large T & K brackets to get the stand off and height required away from the roof overhang, expensive & ugly! So it was with great relief to find more than sufficient signal without the need to amplify from a loft mounted Aerial.

A New bungalow in Bradley Green, although I would have preferred to mount this Aerial in the loft the signal from all transmitters available were too weak. I measured the signal from each of the three gable ends. The gable I chose to use was by far the best and it also meant that the Aerial would not be visible from the front of the property.

As this was an architect designed house my customer requested that the Aerial should be hidden out of sight or in the loft. Lucky for him the incoming signal from the Ledbury transmitter was reasonably strong from the loft. I think an Aerial placed outside could have ruined the look of this beautiful house.

Although Lenchwick is just outside my normal coverage area I made an exception on this beautiful spring day and I'm glad that I did as my customers were a delight and the installation went without a hitch.

This was a standard installation on a large property in Wychbold.

This installation on a new property was a little unusual for a few different reasons. 1 - I would normally always recommend that a TV Aerial is mounted on a chimney (If there is one available) but in this case I was over ruled by my customer who preferred that it be mounted on a rear apex. 2 - The six TV points that had been internally wired by an unknown electrician had been "Daisy chained" This method of connecting all the TV coaxs I've not seen for 15 years or so, most if not all electricians now know that this method is not the way to connect/wire TV coaxs. One of the biggest problems with this method is that an amplifier is often needed sometimes then producing too much signal at the first TV point and too little at the last point in the chain. One thing for sure, unlike a conventionally wired TV system the end result is very unpredictable. 3 - The electrician had terminated two of the coaxs into a internal downstairs storage room making it very difficult to get a coax in from the Aerial outside. 4 - After all the initial worry regarding the poor wiring of the TV coaxs and what the end result may be, it all turned out well, due to the excellent position of this property with regards to the transmitter at Sutton Coldfield there was more than sufficient signal without the need to amplify.

This particular TV Aerial installation was both interesting and unusual, When the customer initially called me his request was for a quote for a new TV Aerial. When I arrived I could quickly see that there was little or nothing wrong with the Aerial although it was the older analouge type, which is just fine for digital TV reception from the Ledbury/Ridge Hill transmitter, the transmitter this Aerial was pointing at. The problem with his reception simply stemmed from a loose and damaged part of the coax cable, which I replaced to restore his TV pictures. He then informed me he'd had another local company out the day before who told him that it was the Aerial that was at fault. I'm a very strong believer that it pays to be honest as after replacing the coax my customer asked how much life there might be in the old Aerial, after guessing some where between 5 and 15 years he asked me to fit a new Aerial as he had no plans of moving again and would prefer to have everything new.

This customer requested that I did not install the Aerial above the apex of his house. I'm always willing to try and site the Aerial in which ever location my customer may request but in some situations unlike this one it does not always work out. Although there would normally be much more signal available by lifting it six feet higher, so long as there's sufficient signal there would be no degradation of picture quality, for the time being at least. This customer may, in years to come have to decide between an amplifier or lifting the Aerial higher in order to maintain all channels without loss of picture quality but he was happy to take the risk and cross that bridge as and when.

This was a slightly unusual in that for me to gain access to the apex where the TV Aerial was mounted which would then enable me to change the pole and or the bracket permission was required from a neighbour but as this was not possible at the time a mutual decision was made to replace just the Aerial.

This customer requested that I try and hide the dish from both the front and the rear of the property. Although permission was required to work from the neighbours drive way everything went without a hitch and as requested, on completion the dish was not visible from the front or the rear.

This was a standard and straight forward installation in Droitwich.

This is one of the rare occasions it was necessary to use a 10 foot pole instead of the standard 5 foot.This property on the Westalads estate in Droitwich is in a dip and the whole area is notorious for poor terrestrial reception. At this property there was a significant gain in signal strength by using the longer pole.
